Following the recent release of the Victorian Auditor General’s Report on Local Government Insurance Risks, Procurement Australia will hold an independent briefing on the potential implications for councils.

The Auditor General made some frank assessments on the operation and sustainability of the sector’s mutual scheme. The implications for councils could be significant in coming years. Our briefing will explore how councils may be able to mitigate against any adverse increased costs/calls on councils.

The Auditor General concluded that councils that had tested the market for their insurance needs received significant discounts on their premiums, between 32% and 69%.

Procurement Australia will be putting together a schedule of required activity for councils considering going to market in the lead up to the 30 June 2019 renewal.

Join us for this important briefing session which could have significant impact on your council's financial position in coming years.
